COVID-19 Safety Measures
(Last Update: December 2024)
Contagious Illness/COVID Safety:
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and take medication to suppress my immune system. For this reason, I am asking that you not come to my office for therapy if you are sick but switch to virtual or reschedule instead (see policies above).
Air-Quality: To prevent transmission of COVID and other viruses, I’ve installed a HEPA air purifier in my waiting room and two in my office, including a state-of-the-art Mila (https://www.milacares.com) air purifier that tracks 8 measurements of air quality in real-time. It is also my policy to leave a window cracked at all times (I have plenty of heat sources) or request that we mask if you would prefer a closed window. I am also happy to mask in session any time if it makes you feel more comfortable.
Physical Distancing: I have arranged my office furniture to space us 9 feet apart.
Hygiene: Common surfaces are cleaned and sanitized daily, I wash my hands between clients, and request that you remove your shoes before entering my office (shoes in the waiting room are fine).
Exposure: If I am exposed to COVID, I will suspend in-person sessions until I test negative test and ask you to do the same. If you contract COVID please let me know immediately so that I can isolate and test myself and notify anyone you might have encountered at my office. Your confidentiality will be 100% respected and I will only share that there has been an exposure, not where came from. COVID is an extremely contagious virus, and there is no shame in contracting it – rest assured that I will not be angry or disappointed if you receive a positive COVID test.
Due to these safety measures, I am happy to say that since I returned to in-person sessions in 2022 after the height of the pandemic, there have been no reported transmissions of COVID or any other illness in my office. This includes times when either me or a client woke up sick the day after an appointment and tested positive for COVID.
